In this premises liability action, the plaintiff maintained that the defendant apartment complex owner and maintenance company failed to inspect, maintain, and repair a ceiling above a staircase on the defendant premises. Consequently, while the plaintiff was walking down the staircase, the ceiling collapsed on him, causing injury. The defendants denied any notice of the condition.

On March 30, ________, the male plaintiff was descending the steps at a residential complex on Radcliffe Street in Bristol, Pennsylvania. The premises was owned, controlled, and maintained by the defendants jointly and/or severally. Suddenly and without warning, the ceiling above the steps collapsed onto the plaintiff, knocking him down the steps. The plaintiff maintained that the defendant was negligent in causing or creating a hazardous and dangerous condition, failing to adequately inspect, discover, and maintain the premises, failing to make proper repairs to the premises, and failing to warn of the hazardous and dangerous condition. As a result of the incident, the plaintiff suffered head trauma, post-concussion syndrome, herniated L4-5, bulging discs at L2-3, L3-4 and L5-S1, left lumbar radiculopathy, lumbar sprain and strain, visual disturbances, and rotator cuff tendonopathy. The defendant denied any notice of the condition, and denied that the plaintiff was seriously injured in the incident.The jury found for the plaintiff and awarded the plaintiff $________.
