The plaintiff, in this slip and fall action, maintained that the defendant failed to properly clear their sidewalk of ice and snow, causing the plaintiff to slip on ice and break her hip. The defendants denied that the premises were not properly treated and clear for ice and snow.

On December 29, ________, the female plaintiff was attending a business conference at the defendant’s premises located on North River Street in Plains, Pennsylvania. After the conference, the plaintiff was walking from the building to the parking lot on the defendant’s sidewalk when she slipped and fell on ice and snow. The plaintiff maintained that the defendant was negligent in failing to clear accumulations of ice and snow from the premises, failing to inspect and determine the existence of hazardous conditions, failing to warn of the hazardous conditions, and failing to provide a safe path for travel from the building to the parking lot. The fall caused the plaintiff to suffer a displaced intertrochanteric fracture of right hip which required surgery to repair. The defendant denied all liability, and argued that proper care to treat and remove the ice and snow had been performed.The jury found that the defendant was not negligent.
